When any Bollywood fan hums “Just Chill” her angelic smile and pulsating figure flashes through his mind with spasms of fantasy. She is Katrina Kaif the youngest star on the blocks in Bollywood. After having launched a thousand products successfully she is already an icon and a beauty ambassador.

Katrina Kaif was born on 16 July 1984 in Hong Kong. Mixed blood is known to have enhanced human beauty. Katrina Kaif’s father is Kashmiri and mother a Caucasian. She has seven sisters and a brother. Katrina Kaif grew up in Hawaii Islands. She went to school in London. Her unusual beauty landed her an offer for modeling at the tender age of 14 in Hawaii. She also continued to model in London. The penchant for fame continued ever thereafter. She did her first Bollywood movie, Boom, with Kaizad Gustad in 2003.

This brought her to Indian shores. Immediately on landing up in India she did an assignment with famous photographer Atul Kasbekar. Her campaign with Lakme got her noticed. Many famous brands started rushing to have Katrina Kaif as their brand ambassador. She became the front face of Kodak cameras, L'Oreal, Samsung, LG Estelle jewelry and innumerable top brands. And then came her major success in Bollywood, Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya, with her beau, Salman Khan. Katrina Kaif swept Bollywood off its feet when she did the Just Chill number in the movie. A club number with Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, this song was a lovely dance number and became the most played song at all discos and parties in India. A heavy-beat remix version of this song made the nation dance to its tune. The movie itself was a super comedy by David Dhawan. Katrina Kaif provided the new face in the movie. The entire movie revolves around Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan. It was a very entertaining movie with the right formula. It also bestowed the lovely actress, Katrina Kaif, on Bollywood.

This was followed by Hum Ko Deewana Kar Gaye in 2006. This movie was just average and did not do much to enhance the career of the actress. Katrina Kaif also did Balram vs. Taradas a super hit in Malyalam. Then came her biggest hit Namaste London with Vipul Shah. With Akshay Khanna in the lead she played the role of a modern UK bred Indian girl. She looked and acted fabulously in this movie. She also gave her voice to the movie and did not dub. Namste London was one of the biggest hits of 2007. It firmly established Katrina Kaif as the rising star in Bollywood. This was to follow with a string of super hits like Apne, Partner and Welcome. Partner was a great David Dhawan movie which ran two parallel love stories with Salman Khan and Govinda. Katrina Kaif and Lara Dutta played the female leads. This super comedy had Bollywood fans in splits. Katrina Kaif proved to be the most successful actress of 2007. All her movies in the year were super entertainers and enthralled the Bollywood fans. Katrina Kaif was fully established as a super star with her hits in 2007.

In her personal life the actress has adjusted to life in Bollywood like no other NRI has done before. Her romance with Salman Khan is well known. She is said to have helped out the actor when he was in jail for some time. Katrina Kaif was also under cloud for wearing improper dresses in the Holy Shrine at Ajmer. In personal life she prefers to wear modest clothing unlike her On Screen image. She says that she is lucky to have reached where ever she is in Bollywood.
